Join the Curtin Chess Club (CCC)

Whether you’re a complete beginner at chess, still learning how the pieces move or a casual player looking to get some games in, the Curtin Chess Club is the place for you! We offer a welcoming and relaxed, social environment where players of all skill levels can come together to learn, play and grow through casual games and local tournaments. More than just chess, it's about building a friendly community and creating a space on campus where students can share their passion for the timeless game of chess.

Membership Options:

1. Ordinary Member (Curtin Students)

• Who can join: This membership is for students enrolled at Curtin University who are over the age of 14 years
• Benefits:
  • The opportunity to participate in local club matches.
  • The chance to enhance your chess skills through active participation and coaching. 
  • The ability to vote at General Meetings and have a say in how the club is run.
  • Eligibility to nominate for positions on the CCC committee.
• How to join:
  • Simply sign up online and you’ll be added to our list of student members. No payment required—membership is completely free for Curtin students.

2. Associate Member (Non-Curtin Students)

• Who can join: This membership is for those who are not students at Curtin University such as Curtin staff, Curtin College Students, students from other universities or general public.
• Benefits:
  • The opportunity to participate in club matches, workshops, and social activities.
  • While associate members can participate in events, they do not have voting rights or eligibility to join the CCC committee.
• How to join:
  • Fill out the online membership form to sign up. Once you’re registered, you can start attending our events and engaging with the community.
